March Meeting Notes
Thank you to our member speaker: Belinda Rolicheck, representing the Stanislaus County Commission for Women. The Democratic Women's Club voted overwhelmingly at our March meeting to become an organization member of the SCCW and will be contributing to their scholarship fund for young women.
Many thanks to member speaker: Lise Talbott, who brought forward current legislation on women's issues -- of primary discussion was the Affordable Care Act and SB 1338.

- Xochitl Paderes for Assembly 2012 reports that Xochitl has just been awarded the Red Cross Hero Award and has received theendorsement of Alex Rooker, Vice-Chair of the California Democratic Party.
- Atwater City Council Meeting, Mayor Joan Faul, on April 9, 2012, presented an award of completion to former mayor Pro Tem Lesa Rasmussen for the League of California Cities “California Civic Leadership Institute.”

County of Stanislaus – Registrar of Voters (All code references are to California Elections Code unless otherwise stated) March 29 (E-68) Certified List of Candidates for Federal and State Offices This list will be issued by the Secretary of State. EC 8148 April 6 (E-60) Special Vote by Mail Ballot Request First day applications can be processed by County Election Official for special vote by mail ballot requests for Military, Overseas and 60-Day Voters. EC 3304 April 9 – May 22 (E-57 to E-14) Write-In Candidacy Statement of Write-in Candidacy and Nomination Papers must be filed with the County Election Official. EC 8600, 8601 April 26 – May 26 (E-40 to E-10) County Sample Ballot Pamphlets Pamphlets are mailed to each registered voter during this time. EC 13303, 13304 April 26 – May 15 (E-40 to E-21) State Voter Information Guide Mailed by the Secretary of State to each household in which voters were registered by E-60 (April 6). EC 9094 May 7 – May 29 (E-29 to E-7) Regular Vote by Mail Ballot Mailing and processing period for Vote by Mail ballots. Ballots will be available at the County Elections Office. EC 3001 May 20 – June 4 Late Contribution and Independent Expenditures of $1000 or More Within 24 hours of the transaction, FPPC for 496 or 497 must be filed with the appropriate filing officer.
