March Meeting Notes
Thank you to our member speaker: Belinda Rolicheck, representing the Stanislaus County Commission for Women. The Democratic Women's Club voted overwhelmingly at our March meeting to become an organization member of the SCCW and will be contributing to their scholarship fund for young women.
Many thanks to member speaker: Lise Talbott, who brought forward current legislation on women's issues -- of primary discussion was the Affordable Care Act and SB 1338.

  • Xochitl Paderes for Assembly 2012 reports that Xochitl has just been awarded the Red Cross Hero Award and has received theendorsement of Alex Rooker, Vice-Chair of the California Democratic Party.
  • Atwater City Council Meeting, Mayor Joan Faul, on April 9, 2012, presented an award of completion to former mayor Pro Tem Lesa Rasmussen for the League of California Cities “California Civic Leadership Institute.”

January Meeting Notes
Special "Thank You" to Lesa Rasmussen & Adam Gray, Assembly Candiates for AD21 - guest speakers at the January meeting.  The women's club held a vote for endorsement at the meeting for the CDP Pre-endorsement Conference held the following day.  Both candidates did a great job! The DWCS would like to congratulate Lisa Rasmussen on winning the club's CDP Pre-endorsement delegate vote!
Special Guest Speaker - Congressional Candidate Jose Hernandez joined us for a chat!  Jose is running for Congress against Jeff Denham in CD10; looking forward to Jose's next visit. For more info on Jose's campaign go to: http://www.joseforcongress.com
